Legacy Bible Podcast

All Lessons from the bible were taught by Rev. Charles Rains. Pastor of the Fellowship Bible Church, located in Joliet IL.

lessons have been converted into digital files from cassette tape recorded from the morning and evening services of the FBC from the 80's to today.

In Episode 122 of the Legacy Bible Podcast, we continue through a powerful message from Rev. Chuck Rains examining the account of Balaam in Numbers 22. While Balaam is remembered for the talking donkey, this message reveals a much deeper spiritual lesson: God's servants must faithfully proclaim God's truth rather than pursuing personal ambition, worldly approval, or selfish desires.
Beginning with Israel's journey through the wilderness and ending with Balaam's confrontation by the Angel of the Lord, this sermon challenges every believer to surrender self-will, trust God's revealed Word, and become faithful witnesses for Jesus Christ.
God's message has never changed—He loves sinners, sent His Son to save them, and calls His people to speak His truth without compromise.

Throughout Scripture, God calls His people to be His representatives in the world. But whose message are we actually proclaiming?
Drawing from Numbers 22, Rev. Chuck Rains contrasts God's clear revelation with man's tendency to pursue self-interest. Israel's wilderness journey serves as a backdrop for one of the Bible's most sobering examples of compromised obedience: Balaam.
Although Balaam knew God's will, he repeatedly entertained opportunities that appealed to his own desires. His story reminds believers that partial obedience is still disobedience and that God's servants must faithfully declare His truth regardless of personal gain or worldly pressure.
This timeless message calls Christians to examine their own hearts and ask one important question:
